As we pause to celebrate Independence Day, we want to take a moment to recognize the work that the Health Action Network (HAN) community has done this year to advocate for market-based, consumer-centered solutions to improve healthcare. A few highlights include:

  • Over 4,800 HAN advocates sent ~20,000 letters to Congress urging support for the ability of Pharmacy Benefit Managers to enhance prescription drug affordability, safety, and outcomes for patients.
  • Over 1,500 Indiana advocates sent over 28,000 letters to state legislators encouraging support for legislation that would lower healthcare costs by preventing hospitals from dishonest billing patients and employers.
  • 774 advocates in New York sent 2,322 letters urging state legislators to oppose legislation that would have significantly increased healthcare costs for New Yorkers.

We want to celebrate these efforts and to thank you for your continued hard work and dedication to protect access to affordable, quality healthcare.

The fight continues, and we look forward to your continued support and engagement. Have a healthy and safe 4th of July!
